Are you passionate about working with children and teenagers, interested in teaching English in a fun and dynamic environment, and looking for adventure? As a Camp Counselor with camps for friends, you’ll have the chance to create unforgettable experiences for young learners while exploring new places and building your skills in education, languages, and leadership. Whether you have little or no experience, don’t worry—you’ll receive professional training through the camps for friends Academy and learn from experienced leaders to ensure you’re well-prepared for the role. This is your chance to gain valuable international experience while working in some of Europe’s most picturesque locations.
Your role and responsibilities:
This position is perfect for university students or recent graduates eager to develop their teaching and organizational skills while embracing an adventurous spirit. Your key responsibilities will include teaching English to small groups using engaging, pre-designed materials and creating a positive and inclusive camp environment that fosters both learning and fun. You’ll also get to organize and lead exciting activities based on your talents—whether it’s sports like basketball, swimming, or sailing, or creative workshops such as music, painting, or crafts. Additionally, you’ll accompany participants on cultural excursions to explore scenic towns and landmarks in Germany, Austria, and England.

Are you an excellent communicator with a talent for organization and multitasking? As a Camp Coordinator, you’ll play a key support role, working closely with the Camp Leader to ensure smooth and efficient camp operations. You’ll act as the primary contact for parents, staff, and activity partners, manage participant well-being, and help create a successful camp experience. Good German skills are essential, as you’ll often liaise with parents and local partners. In smaller camps, you’ll also teach English, particularly to campers with lower English levels, ensuring they feel confident and included.

As a Camp Leader with camps for fiends, you’ll oversee the daily operations of one of our camps in Germany or Austria, combining leadership, organization, and teaching to create an exciting and dynamic environment. This is a unique opportunity to develop your skills while managing camp activities, leading a team, and making a real impact on young learners. Plus, you’ll receive leadership and other training to ensure you’re fully prepared for the role.
Your role and responsibilities:
Your key responsibilities will include overseeing camp schedules to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, leading and supporting your team of Camp Counselors, and teaching English in some camps using provided training and materials. You’ll also communicate professionally with parents, house managers, and activity providers, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all participants. Additionally, you’ll organize and participate in exciting activities like sailing, bouldering, and creative arts workshops while fostering a positive and inclusive camp atmosphere.

We emphasize a family-like atmosphere where everyone can connect, have fun, and make lasting memories. The well-being of both our campers and staff is our top priority, and we foster a strong sense of community built on respect, curiosity, and openness.
No, prior experience is not required for many positions, including Camp Counselor and Camp Coordinator. Whether you’re a student or a recent graduate, we offer comprehensive training through the camps for friends Academy. You’ll receive hands-on experience and guidance from experienced leaders, ensuring you’re well-prepared for the role. For the role of Camp Leader, experience working in a camp previously is required.
As a part of our team, you’ll undergo training provided by the camps for friends Academy. Camp leaders will have a leadership training prior to their start in the camp season. Camp Counsellors and Camp Coordinators will be prepared before thier first camp and will also receive on-the-job training. As every camp and every kid is different, the best place to learn as a Camp Counsellor or Camp Coordinator is in camp from your experienced leadre. You’ll learn essential skills in teaching, leadership, and team coordination, no matter your previous experience. We’ll equip you with all the tools and support you need to thrive at camp.
We offer high-quality accommodation and facilities in beautiful holiday regions across Germany, Austria, and England. You’ll receive free board and lodging during your camp assignments, competitive pay, and exciting activities like sailing, tennis, swimming, and more. At the end of the season, you’ll receive an individual job reference and a certificate for your experience.
