Our Camp Guides are native speakers and come from countries like England, Australia, or the USA. In addition, the camp coordinators are also German-speaking contacts for the children at camp. The camp language is English, but especially with minor concerns like homesickness, the children sometimes need support in their native language.
The young people all have one thing in common: You love working with children.
How is the team structured in the camp?
The Camp Leader is responsible for the Implementation of the pedagogical concept according to our quality standards. He has already completed at least 10 English camps with Camps for Friends as a camp guide.
The Camp Coordinator coordinate the entire Camp activities and take over the Communication with parents. They speak fluent German and are also available to talk to if a child wants to discuss something in German.
The Language lessons and the Activities are from the Camp Counselors To ensure optimal support in the language camp, One guide is responsible for a maximum of 12 students.
How are the carers trained?
All supervisors have already Experience in the field of education and have a First aid certificate. At the beginning of the season (or for new coaches also during the year), all coaches go through our Trainer Academy. They are trained in the pedagogical concept, our basic mindset and also the camps for friends-feeling. Of course, this is where our educational director from England. The management and the Munich team conveys the company values in training. The training includes, among other things:
- Conception of effective teaching for the language camps
- Development of Learning games, projects and group activities for the learning projects during the language holidays
- Employment with Duty of supervision and youth protection law
- Promoting social skills of children and young people
- Dealing with discipline problems
- Design varied activities from the areas Sport, nature and creativity for the holiday camps
- Dealing with homesickness and other educational challenges
