Language camps:
Our holistic learning concept
Children and young people learn languages in four areas! With our English camps we create a language experience, which combines these four areas: language, life, activity and themes. We want to arouse children’s interest and inspire them for the language and make it easier for them to access – in a fun learning environment. It's not about improving children and pointing out their weaknesses, but rather about encouraging them in what they already know and removing their fear of the threshold.
We create a language experience
Language
The children communicate in English throughout the day—with each other and with our international trainers from England, the USA, Canada, etc. No matter what language level the children start at—it's very quick and fun!
LIFE
Language must be fun, language
must be experienced together. camps for friends creates a relaxed learning environment where no one has to fear making mistakes. Fairness and helpfulness are also part of the learning experience.
ACTIVITY
NEWS
Depending on age, language skills and interests, we discuss together
current topics. We encourage creative, critical thinking, research relevant content together, read texts, or simply listen.
What does this mean for our program?
Language
Learn English intensively, playfully and sustainably
- Communicative learning: At the summer camp, students are completely immersed in the foreign language – without having to travel thousands of kilometers. This begins when they wake up and ends when they go to bed.
- Playful learning: The foreign language is spoken both in language camp classes and during leisure activities. A friendly atmosphere helps break down inhibitions, and students feel much more confident in this fear-free learning environment.
- Sustainable Learning: Through continuous language practice, vocabulary expands, listening comprehension develops, and speaking becomes more fluent. At the end of the camp, each participant receives a certificate of participation for this outstanding achievement.
Topics
Depending on age and language skills, relevant topics are discussed, e.g. the following:
- Areas of children’s lives: Hobbies, school, friends, vacation
- Dealing with nature and the environment: Through outdoor activities, children learn to treat their environment responsibly.
- Conscious nutrition and health: The children acquire knowledge about healthy eating in a playful way, for example by analyzing foreign language menus.
- Responsible use of the internet and social media: TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, blogs, influencers... – fascinating and inspiring, of course. But one must also consider the other side and be aware of the dangers.
- Promote teenagers’ interests: Career aspirations, music, fashion, and sports.
live
Fair play, a sense of responsibility, team spirit, courtesy… these are not only needed at camp, but for life.
- Politeness and etiquette: This is practiced, for example, in role plays.
- Solution-oriented thinking: Complex tasks await the children that encourage creativity.
- Take initiative and assume responsibility: Students learn this best through teamwork, for example when completing an obstacle course.
- Creative thinking: For example, children practice quick thinking through guessing games.
- Team building: Students learn to work in teams when faced with challenging tasks
Activities
Of course, there is also plenty of fun in the camps for friends – with a wide range of leisure activities DURING THE HOLIDAYScamps has something for everyone – after all, your children are on holiday.
- Sports: Fun and exercise in the fresh air with familiar and new sports such as football, slacklining, sailing, bubble soccer, canoeing, beach (volleyball), skating, climbing, stand-up paddleboarding, ...
- Nature: Together we explore nature; depending on the camp, this might include dunes, marine life, forests, meadows, mountains, ...
- Kreativität: In a variety of workshops, students can let their imaginations run wild. For example, they design their own T-shirts or build a real raft as a group. Our upcycling tutorials are also extremely popular.
