English camps for ages 8 and up? A definite "YES"! Especially after moving on to secondary school, many children struggle with English. Developing enthusiasm for the language often becomes a real challenge. first camp in 3rd or 4th grade is therefore perfect: The children are open-minded, curious, and learn English through play – in a positive, stress-free environment. They experience that language is fun – and this is precisely how long-term motivation is built.

Learning Projects: Interactive and individual

In our English Learning Projects, the focus is not on vocabulary, but rather on communication. Right on the first day, we divide the children into groups based on age and English proficiency to specifically support their individual needs. This allows each child to work on language skills at their own level.

In contrast to traditional classroom instruction, we offer an interactive learning environment where children practice English in a playful and practical way. Whether through group assignments, presentations, or creative projects – language comes alive and is fun!

English camp with or without overnight stay?

Especially for younger children, it is often easier if they can sleep in their own bed at night. So all our City Camps without overnight stay bookable. Only in our City Holiday Camp In Hamburg, the kids also have the opportunity to stay overnight.

Arrival/Departure: Individual or supervised

Our city camps are easy to reach – whether by car or bus. S-Bahn or the Auto. If the route to a camp is not ideal for you, we offer a supervised arrival from nearby central train stations. Our experienced instructors will ensure your child arrives at camp safely and relaxed.

My 8-year-old daughter really wanted to go to English camp at the Oberhaching Sports School. Since she's only in 3rd grade and hasn't really learned much English before, I thought it was quite ambitious... But actually, she started asking us English questions on the second day. She's so euphoric because she realizes how great the language is and that whole new possibilities are opening up. On her next vacation, she definitely wants to be able to talk to the kids on the beach (like her big sister). If that isn't motivation, then 🙂

My son participated in City Camp Frankfurt during the Easter holidays: he was able to improve his English and now enjoy the language. Because the indoor pool on the camp grounds was closed, the whole group went to the Frankfurt Panoramabad – it was fantastic! It was a lot of fun, and he made a new friend. See you next time!

I booked the day camp in Munich/Oberhaching relatively spontaneously so that my bilingual child could experience what it's like to be surrounded by people who actually speak only his second language. At first, he was very skeptical, but after just one day, he was absolutely thrilled. The most enjoyable part was actually the lessons and the conversations with the counselors. Sports were not neglected, which, of course, was also a highlight every day. We will definitely book again, that much is already certain.

Our daughter went to day camp in Oberhaching. She was especially excited about the sports on offer—swimming, beach volleyball, soccer, basketball, etc. And then the highlight: the trip to Bavaria Filmstadt! I think she learned a lot more English at camp than she initially realized. Suddenly, she's pronouncing English words completely differently and enjoys "testing out" English phrases on the rest of the family. 🙂 She's only 8, but we'll definitely book again this summer.

Our son was in Oberhaching during the Easter break. He really enjoyed it. The program was well organized, especially for us parents, with the option of drop-off and pick-up at Ostbahnhof. The teachers were all very nice, and the sports school must be fantastic. Even the cafeteria there—our son thought the food was really delicious every day. Whether it's directly helped with his English at school remains to be seen. In any case, he learned something for life, and it motivated him to realize that he understands almost everything and that others understand him too. I'm sure this is having a positive effect.
