"The numerous opportunities to make new social contacts are particularly noteworthy. The young people quickly struck up conversations with each other, and many new friendships developed. The open and friendly atmosphere contributed to everyone feeling comfortable and quickly overcoming any inhibitions about speaking English."
The lessons were also varied and motivating. The content was presented in a playful and practical way, so that speaking and understanding English was fostered naturally. The individual needs of the participants were also taken into account.
Another big highlight for our daughter were the activities offered. These were well-organized, varied, and a lot of fun.
Overall, the camp was a thoroughly successful experience for our daughter. It offered great added value both linguistically and personally. The combination of learning, leisure activities, and social interaction will be particularly memorable.
There is already a desire to participate in another language camp next year.”

"My 15-year-old daughter attended the camp at Wrekin College in Wellington for the second time this year during the Easter holidays. After her first experience last year, she knew immediately that she absolutely had to go back, and this time for two weeks. Her enthusiasm speaks for itself. Günther and Sonia, along with their fantastic team, once again lovingly cared for the children and made the two weeks an unforgettable experience. The organization is outstanding, and in addition to engaging English lessons and sports activities, there were also some amazing excursions. This year, the kids visited London, Birmingham, Wales, and Liverpool, among other places; they hiked with alpacas and rode on an old steam train. Because there's a full program of activities throughout the day and English-speaking staff, English is the language of the camp all day long. Many new friendships were formed, and there were plenty of tears at the end. In short: I can wholeheartedly recommend this camp, and my daughter would love to go back to England right now."

"My son (16 years old) spent two weeks at Wrekin College Camp in England during the Easter holidays. He quickly settled in and made new friends. He loved the accommodation, the camp's recreational program, and the excursions. The team of counselors was fantastic. My son improved his English skills and now enjoys speaking English. All in all, a great experience for him and for us."

"Our son (16) spent a week at a language camp in Haltern am See during the last autumn break, and then spent two weeks at Wrekin College in England during the Easter holidays. Each time he was happy to be there with other young people his own age, and he quickly made friends. He found all the counselors friendly and they were generally native speakers. We parents always felt our child was in good hands. The program was varied and well-organized. In England, our son particularly enjoyed the sports activities (he even got to try some different sports) and the city trips."
Overall, we can highly recommend the camps.”

"I spent two weeks at Wrekin College in England and I really enjoyed my time there. I had already been there last year, but the program was still different and exciting, so it never felt boring.
The team leaders were very friendly and always helpful. The English lessons were fun and helped me become more confident when speaking.
I also liked the activities a lot. There was always something to do, and if you didn't want to join something like sports, you could choose another activity.
The trips were very interesting and well organized. I also really liked the accommodation and felt comfortable there.
Overall, I had a great time and would definitely recommend it.”

"My daughter is 13 and went to a language camp for the first time this year. She spent a week at WREKIN COLLEGE during the Easter holidays. She had a lot of fun and made new friends right away. She was especially enthusiastic about the activities and excursions they went on. She'll definitely be back ♥️"
Special thanks go to Günther and Sonia and of course to the rest of the supervisors.”

"My daughter and her friend went to camp during the Easter holidays. She had a fantastic time. Communication with the leader, Mr. Bedson, was excellent. It was the children's first time abroad on their own, and it was a wonderful experience. My sincere thanks to the organization and the Bedson family. The children will definitely be back."

"The best camp in the world (Camp am Schliersee) My son spent a wonderful week at the camp. The combination of breathtaking nature in the Bavarian mountains and English lessons taught by native speakers was simply perfect. During the day, there were exciting outdoor activities, especially kayaking and cycling, which provided unforgettable moments. He not only improved his English skills but also made new friends. A fantastic experience that we can absolutely recommend!"

"My two daughters (10 and 12) have already attended the City Camp in Munich (Oberhaching Sports School) for the second time. I think the concept of the 'City Camps' is fantastic, especially for younger children. My 10-year-old is now really looking forward to learning English at secondary school. What more could you want? 🙂"
A particular highlight for the girls is always the environment at the sports school: In addition to the – often very athletic – kids in the English camp, there are always top athletes from a wide variety of sports on site. This creates a very special, sporty atmosphere!

"The counselors at the camp were incredibly kind, competent, and attentive to the children. The facilities of the Hessian State Sports Federation are absolutely fantastic! The equipment is top-notch. My children had a really great time and learned a lot, both linguistically and personally. Many thanks to these dedicated young people!"

"My children (10 and 12) attended the day camp at Schluchsee (since we live less than 15 minutes away). The camp management and the two teachers were fantastic. As a mother, I was impressed by the educational concept and the policy of collecting mobile phones (only available for 60 minutes after dinner). The children had a lot of fun and learned more English than on the much more expensive language trip to Malta with another provider (where all the children were on their phones for 5-6 hours a day and constantly asked me to extend my screen time). We will only book Camp for Friends from now on, and next time they will stay overnight – regardless of the location – for the full experience."

"Our son spent a week at the language camp at Wrekin College in England during the Easter holidays and came back THRILLED. His second sentence when we picked him up at the airport was, "I want to do that again!" He would have loved to stay another week. He was very skeptical at the beginning of the trip, but Günther and his team won him over. "I had no idea I could speak so much English." Even though it was only for a week this time, our son's passion for the English language was finally ignited - finally :O) Our son felt very well looked after; there was great camaraderie. They also had a lot of fun with the local English students who accompanied the children. From the very first contact, we were very well informed, and everything was perfectly organized. Even the small hiccup at passport control was resolved thanks to Günther leaving his phone number at the airport. That was very reassuring for us parents, and our son was never worried. He was given a very friendly welcome at the terminal. The language was learned in a fun way, a great leisure program was offered, and the food was just what our son wanted! We extend our sincere thanks to Günther and his team for making this stay a very special experience for our son. Best regards."

"Our son was in Oberhaching during the Easter break. He really enjoyed it. The program was well organized. Especially for us parents, the option of drop-off and pick-up at Ostbahnhof station was great. The teachers were all very nice, and the sports school must be fantastic. Even the cafeteria there – our son thought the food was really delicious every day. Whether it directly helped with his English at school remains to be seen. In any case, he learned something for life, and it motivated him to realize that he understands almost everything and that others understand him too. I'm sure this is having a positive effect."

“Our daughter was initially rather skeptical, but in the end she was completely thrilled 😁
From the very beginning, Günther, Sonja, and the entire team were very caring, extremely cheerful, and funny, and they put together a fantastic program.
The lessons were “even fun” 😜😁, afternoon activities and excursions (basketball, swimming, cricket, theme nights, crafts, cooking, parties, London, Oxford, even the museum visit was mentioned extremely positively) were very varied and really suited the teenagers’ tastes, respect!
The time together was so nice and harmonious and the days were so full that we didn't even miss our cell phones (sensational: digital detox, cell phone only for 1 hour in the early evening 😄👍).
Our daughter didn't want to go home, BIG praise and many thanks to everyone 🙏🤗!!!"

Great college, fantastic sports facilities, fun excursions, and group activities. His English language skills improved significantly. Günther, the camp director, in particular, does a fantastic job and brings a lot of experience and passion to the camp. The planning and communication during arrival and departure went smoothly. We'd love to go again, thanks a lot!"

"I booked the day camp in Munich/Oberhaching relatively spontaneously so that my bilingual child could experience what it's like when the environment actually speaks only his second language. At first, he was very skeptical, but after just one day, he was absolutely thrilled. The most fun was actually the lessons and the conversations with the counselors. Sports were not neglected, which, of course, was also a highlight every day.
We will definitely book again, that much is already certain.”

"My daughter participated in a language trip to England (Wrekin College in Wellington), and I am extremely impressed by the diverse and enriching experiences she had there. The program was excellently designed and offered a balanced mix of exciting activities and in-depth cultural insights. Numerous excursions to London, Birmingham, Warwick Castle, go-karting, etc. were excellently organized and she thoroughly enjoyed them.
I'd like to express special praise to the organizers and supervisors, whose warm, open-minded, and unfailingly helpful manner made my daughter feel like she was in the best hands at all times. It was reassuring to know that she was well looked after and supported in this new environment.
The visible improvement in her English skills is particularly gratifying. The approach of involving local children and young people in the program was extremely successful. This enabled her to practice the language in authentic conversational situations and, at the same time, gain valuable insights into English culture and lifestyle. I also particularly enjoyed the interactive games (City Rally), in which the young people had to solve quizzes and, in return, engaged in conversation with locals in the city. These didactically clever elements promoted language learning in a playful and practical way and helped my daughter to noticeably improve her English. She not only expanded her language skills but also developed a profound understanding of England's history, modern life, and the remarkable friendliness of the English people.
This language trip was a valuable opportunity for my daughter to develop both linguistically and personally. I am extremely grateful that she was given this opportunity and can highly recommend the Wrekin College program."

"Thank you so much for the fantastic two weeks at Wrekin College that you gave our children. They came home completely blown away and raved about how wonderful it was. Both of them definitely want to do it again. You kept them busy from morning to night with an exciting program that not only prevented boredom but also challenged them intensively. A jam-packed, interesting program, perfectly organized, and the luck of having a great group that fit together perfectly. It couldn't have gone better. And, by the way, they certainly improved their English. We can only say a heartfelt thank you for what you achieved. Our children's enthusiasm speaks volumes."

“My 12-year-old daughter was absolutely thrilled with the Easter camp in Oberhaching.
She made many new friends and was able to communicate better in English every day. She especially liked the fact that the supervisors came from different countries and had a lot to share about their homeland. She has definitely lost a lot of her shyness about speaking to others in English.

"I sent my son to Camps for Friends in Stuttgart during the fall break. It was really well planned, and the youth sports school where it took place had many amenities. The Camps for Friends team was very friendly and spoke only English with the children. “Our older children (13 and 15) spent two weeks alone at a language camp in England this summer with Camps for Friends and absolutely loved it.
They had great, practical lessons and spoke a lot of English (the counselors and teachers were all native speakers, and apart from the camp director, they didn't speak any German). As parents, we were very pleased with the uncomplicated registration process and the answers to all our questions. Everything was thought of, and we felt good the whole time about sending our children off on their own by plane for the first time.
Günther and his team were extremely professional, quick to respond, and perfectly adapted to the children's individual needs. We highly recommend the stay in the UK with Camps for Friends, and our younger siblings can hardly wait to go there too."

"Our son participated in the Camps for Friends Sports English Camp last year at Altmühlsee and this year in Bischofsgrün. We were very satisfied both times. The organization was smooth, and the counselors were dedicated and friendly. Our son still talks enthusiastically about the sports activities and the evenings spent together. He also enjoyed the playful English lessons. Daily hygiene, such as regular showers, was well organized. The food was also excellent. The community spirit and camaraderie at camp were impressive. Our son made many new friends and made unforgettable memories.
Camps for Friends offers a perfect blend of sports, language development, fun, and relaxation. We highly recommend this camp and are already looking forward to next year!

"I'm Otto and I'm 13 years old. Last year I participated in the Easter camp at Stein Castle. Although I have to admit, I was a little hesitant at first when my parents signed me up for a camp where I knew absolutely nobody. Even worse, it seemed like I was only allowed to use my cell phone for one hour a day. But I have to thank my parents; that's exactly what allowed me to meet so many new and interesting friends. The days flew by. Cool activities like making a film, fun parties in the evening, and lots of outdoor activities in the beautiful surroundings of the castle. On top of that, the morning English lessons were not only fun but also really beneficial. Finally, a big thank you to the teaching and support team. They had lots of spontaneous ideas, were there for us at all times, and did so without being annoying. 🙂 Also very important is that the children there were very nice and suited me perfectly. See you soon, Your OTTO"

"My son spent two weeks at Gerlosplatte last year. We were thrilled when we arrived. Everything was superbly organized; we were shown the rooms, and the hostel was a paradise for children with a huge indoor playground. When we picked him up, we got a very happy boy back. He had a blast. He clearly benefited greatly from CAMPS FOR FRIENDS in his English class at school; he received an excellent grade for the first time and has improved significantly overall. We immediately booked again for this year. We can only recommend the camp for its organization and the caring camp counselors."

"I sent two children, ages 10 and 12, to the summer camp. They absolutely loved it and want to go again next summer. A good mix of learning (English lessons) and various leisure activities was offered. The only wish: the children would have liked to play soccer outside on the grass. However, this might not have been possible due to the weather or the wet ground. A generous breakfast buffet and lunch were included. Well organized, with reliable contact and a callback option. Highly recommended, and the costs were reasonable."

She improved her English a lot and, in particular, lost her inhibitions about speaking. The food must have been very good, and the supervision and leisure activities varied. We also booked horseback riding, which she also enjoyed a lot. The children only get their cell phones for 30-60 minutes in the evening, so they can fully immerse themselves in the camp.

Fun project work was done daily in four different groups (depending on language progress). Both boys loved the offered leisure activities, such as cycling, table tennis, swimming, canoeing, and the additional surfing course. The accommodation was simple but clean, and the food was plentiful and good. The instructors all spoke English. A truly fantastic program!"

He wasn't overwhelmed by the English, even though he's not a straight A or B student. 🙂 He enjoyed the food. Very important! "This morning we inquired about the 2022 program for our son and found out that it will be released on Friday. Max is participating for the third time now and has been super happy every time! We were particularly impressed this morning by the ladies on the phone, with whom we are practically on first name terms, who again gave us such great advice. Max is really looking forward to his vacation with the camps for friends and especially to Kieran, Kira, Jonathan and all the other great teachers.”

"Camps for friends is a truly professional company. If you have any questions, someone is immediately available by phone, and our written inquiries were also responded to promptly. This makes customer service fun! What I find particularly impressive is that the atmosphere is still very familiar and you immediately feel at ease. Thank you so much!"

Maria K. (2022)

"The English camp during the summer holidays was a great opportunity to experience and learn the language in a new way. The supervision before the start of the camp was good. The trip was supervised. The children felt well looked after. On site, the rooms were tidy and modest enough that the children could spend their time outside and were not distracted. The supervisors were English-speaking teachers who spoke little or no German. The learning effect was therefore very great. At the end of the week, this was a successful language course."

D. Pohlan (2021)

"Our two girls (11 and 11) were at Hohenfels Castle last week. They absolutely loved the all-inclusive package. Great supervision, many new friendships, and they made tremendous progress in their English in just one week. Since all the counselors spoke only English, the children had to really get to grips with the language. The bottom line after one week: overjoyed, highly motivated children who are starting the new school year with a lot of enthusiasm. Many thanks to all the counselors for their great work. Our children plan to attend the next camp with their best friend during the fall break. THANK YOU!!!"
